How to find a court record from the 1980’s?

It is not listed on my states court pages. I know that this happened because it was in the newspaper- but I don’t know exact year or month. Happened in the 80’s. This is a serious issue that I need to find more information about.

Go onto Lexis and do a search through the newspaper stories to get the date and time and the parties. Then go to the court.
