How do I obtain copies of criminal court documents on a certain case?

court records
Sherri asked:

I am looking to obtain copies of any public documents on a certain case. The case was in Michigan. How do I go about getting copies of criminal court records?
Also, does it make a difference if it was high profile or not? I mean, as far as how much it will cost to get the documents?

Just request it from the court clerk. They usually have a form you have to fill out in writing and they make you pay a fee depending on what you want. Like CD court transcripts might cost $10 or so, etc.

should be public records at the courthouse in the county the case was filed in.go to the court house ask the court clerk .take the case # look the case up. usually they have a cpu available. if its your personal case you can file a “motion for discovery and obtain all the statements and evidence.there is also a freedom of information act, some states require different measures. go to the courthouse and start. good luck!@
